When we bore scoped the cylinder we thought we seen bore scoring. We removed the cylinder heads to find this engine has had 101mm cylinders (not steel liners) and what was thought was bore scoring was actually the rings seating into the crosshatching. We ordered new head gaskets from EBS Racing and reassembled the engine. Leakdown from each cylinder is less than 10 percent.

If you are installing into a 2000-2001 model, the engine wiring harness and throttle body must be changed.
